Retirees

A New Chapter

Retirement doesn’t mean stepping away from the union community—it’s a new chapter to stay connected, keep learning, and enjoy the perks of membership.

As a Local 1095 retiree, you have access to exclusive benefits, from healthcare options and social events to educational workshops and financial planning support. Plus, staying involved means lending your knowledge to the next generation of laborers, sharing your experiences, and advocating for workers’ rights alongside fellow union members.

Whether you’re joining in on retiree gatherings, attending union meetings, or just keeping up with the latest news, Local 1095 is here to make your retirement fulfilling and connected.

If you have a defined benefit pension plan, get an up-to-date estimate of your pension and the income you can expect in retirement before you make the plunge. Many LIUNA affiliated pension plans require that you contact the Fund at least 3 months in advance of receiving benefits.

Check on your eligibility to continue your health coverage and/or apply for Medicare Part A and Part B to take care of your health in retirement. Call 1-800-MEDICARE or go to www.medicare.gov.

Check to see when you will be eligible for social security benefits and get a benefits estimate by contacting the Social Security Administration in advance of your retirement. To get benefits, you must file an application three months prior to retiring. 1-800-772-1213 or visit www.SSA.gov.
